Hakuzo just shrugs and swings his Mattock at the rocks. "It's been too 'dry' in this area. You'd be surprised to find fool's gold."

The guard gets annoyed and yells. "Stop talking you two and get to work!"

((OOC:Sorry for the wait from me, I've had a fair bit to get my head around lately so things have been slow with me))

Ivy's right ear had dropped slightly at the response she got from the kid, having been taken aback by the confronting situation causing quite a pause of silence from her. It probably didn't help being the first day for the newcomers in this place. Eventually Ivy had looked down to the side for a moment with a hard, solemn expression before finally grasping onto some words to speak again.

"Okay.... I'm sorry for calling your friend a pet..." Ivy responded back more quieter than she first seemed, after realizing she had paused again Ivy softened in expression as she looked back up to Lilly. Her right ear raised back up to say the least and had put on a half hearted smile back to Lilly, but something still seemed up with her. Ivy was not great with social situations at times.

"With the session we keep going until dark. There is a break ever two hours at least." Ivy continued to explain, sounding just as she had done before on first meet. She looked about to the other prisoners who had already started on their breaks minutes ago, at least Ivy was thankful that the introduction would have gained her a few more moments longer than normal to take a break.

"At the moment its a break for us so we don't have to rush straight into the work again. It would be better to be doing this at night with how these crystals glow, yet I think the guards must be blind because a few keep saying that it would be too hard to 'see' us out here if its dark. Anyways if you just stick with me, follow the guards instructions, I can help you through all this..."."

Ivy whispered out the last part out of the nearby guards hearing range. Giving a pleasant chuckle to herself she took up her canteen again to take a drink, unscrewing the cap and taking another mouth full just as she did earlier. However, the drink of water wasn't the new priority on her mind.

All through this somewhat innocent act Ivy attempted to pocket the crystal she was still holding in the palm of her hand behind the canteen cap. Having learned from her fails over two years here along with taking the punishments that followed, it helped with her skill at pickpocketing things but Ivy still played it safe to the rare occasion she did bother with the act.

With a flick of her thumb under the cap of the canteen and to the crystal, Ivy slid it down into her loose coat sleeve as she was taking the drink of water. Risky the move may have been what with the guards nearby which she always remained paranoid about, and for these newcomers, but how opportune it was at that moment with all the extra activity for the guards to be preoccupied. Of course, who is gonna miss one little crystal? Soon enough Ivy quickly swallowed the water in her mouth then put the cap back on the canteen as if nothing had happened.

Tsukos looked at the boiling bander slime with a vacant expression. then he slowly looked around at the other food preparers staring at him. Then at the place he was in, the guards also staring at him, and the very obviously prison-like walls.

"****." he said under his breath, having not really processed what had been going on, nor what he was supposed to be doing. Something about cooking. But... considering the size of the kitchen, and the number of people here, this wasn't for personal consumption.

He stole a quick look around for something with which to cover his tail, and saw a spice shaker. grabbing it, he started to shake it into the small pot and act as though he were making a sauce, something special to put on the main course.

...Fortunately the shaker was opaque, because it was quite empty. After that, he left his 'sauce' to simmer while he obtained a larger pot... MUCH larger... and a great deal more bander slime.

Lily looked over at Daikisuke, who was once again looking around the area.

"O-okay..."

Everything seemed to catch up to her, then. She was who-knows-where in the Starfall mountains, miles away from the comforting faces and hidey-holes of the docks at Kojiki. No-one would look for her for a while, and when they did, any evidence would be gone if it wasn't gone already.

Lily's head bowed and her bangs covered her bright green eyes. She heard the creak of the infernal contraption strapped to her best-friend as Daikisuke moved to comfort her. The too-familiar pull of her power nudged her in the back of her head, but she refrained, too scared and cautious for any trouble. Even if that man had gotten her collar taken off, the others probably wouldn't think any good of it. No, she felt it too early in the roller coaster ride to do anything but hold on tight.

A half-frozen tear fell to the snow, and she hurried to hide the others before Ivy and others could see or before they froze too noticeably. Lily sniffed once, only once, as she wiped her eye one last time.

She wished they could just get off break, so at least there was something to keep her mind off her troubles for the time being. Sitting there did nothing but let her inner wall buckle with disbelief.

"H-how long have you been here?" She finally muttered, studying the very-faintly glowing snow.

-= Mining Area =-

All the workers drop their tools and quickly crowd around the fallen Feline. Hakuzo was close enough to one of the medics to notice that he keycard is on a snap away connection. While everyone was busy asking the medics the usual, 'are they ok?', 'What happened' and such.

The guards had no way to view Hakuzo's actions as he quietly unsnaps the keycard from the belt of the medic and quickly slides it into the lip of his pants while turning the other way appearing that he is heading back to work. The pants are thin enough Hakuzo closes the snaps carefully onto his pants.

Hakuzo picks up his own pick axe again preparing to work before the guards yell at the mob.

Cyprus sighed as his pick axe bounced off the rock yet again. Nothing had come out from the rocks and although the strange monotony of pick-on-rock did make him zone out a bit, he wanted some music, or maybe some idle conversation, but if he did that he'd either be hit or shocked. Neither one was good for him. Pulling out his canteen he took a drink before a feline passes out in the mining area.

"Finally, something interesting and or different."

Cyprus walks on over as two medics appear, brining with them a stretcher. They quickly load the feline up, meanwhile being bothered by the usual questions, 'they okay?' and 'what happened?'. What do they think happened.

"you know if you guys didn't work us so freakin hard this probably wouldn't happen and you could have better productivity."

Once again his mouth was ahead of his brain, hopefully they wouldn't care. hopefully. He closed his canteen sicne it happened to still be open from his drink earlier.

Buckling up the sleeves of her coat both from the chill that slipped up her sleeve and to keep the crystal where it is for the rest of the day till shift was over with. All the while Ivy didn't notice the tear from Lilly until the sound of a sniff reached her ears, to which Ivy turned her gaze back to Lilly only to catch her wiping away some tears.

"For how long I was here? Gotta be around two years nearly, back when it seemed like they only just finished their base down underground which you'll get to see soon enough."her voice seemed to drop off into silence after answering Lilly's question. She had her doubts occasionally. Ivy having tried to search for someone before this place but the plan becoming shut down upon being captured and left here had nearly made her lose hope apart from one thing she had in mind, and that was to escape one day. Half a minute of silence later, Ivy finally managed to pass over her doubts again and set eyes on her goal.

"Don't worry Lilly. We'll get out of here one day, I'll make sure of that one way or another. For now though perhaps you want to take a head start in digging? Think we should be fine for starting a minute or two before everyone else since I gave you the introduction" Ivy offered this with a hopeful smile as she stood up and picked up the few crystals she found earlier to take them over to the cart Daikisuke was pulling.

NEW OBJECTIVE: Find the location of the Medical Facility OR find information about it.

(ooc: Open to all players, Reward will be 1 token for anyone that can successfully gain Information. Some of the NPCs around you may know something, some may not. All RP interactions of this level will be conducted by myself or Ivy.)

The medics ignored all the questions and carried the feline off out of the mines. No one knowing where the feline is being taken.

Hakuzo already goes back to work before the guards yell. "Ok, coffee break is over ladies, Get back to work now! And you all lose your next break because of this Coffee break!" One of the guards yells. Great, Hakuzo looses out on a much needed break because all the other peons couldn't take a dang hint. Hakuzo inwardly growls as he starts swinging harder and harder at the rocks.

A pinch of dust. A bit of furnacewood ash. A spritz of the inadequate cleanser. Some sweat, blood and tears, and a little from his kitchenmates too. A bit of cloth secretly torn from his own wardrobe (not that anyone would notice, they all seemed rather raggedly dressed).

These small, unorthodox, even normally unpalatable ingredients soon became a form of cut-rate cuisine; after all Bander Slime was just so bland beyond being vaguely bandery that practically anything would improve the taste and add subtlety. It was the stuff of master chefs and army cooks alike, and in Tsukos' skilled paws the compound would get a meal that was likely better than any they'd had in quite some time.

And of course... showmanship. He put on a bit of a mute show for everyone, guards included. Some of the other cook staff gave him strange looks at first, but as he was patently doing his job as well if not better than they they turned a blind eye if not joined in on the fun.

And the guards were amused. Maybe even distracted. How long that would last was uncertain.
