Søren shook the hand of Lüt, albeit a little less firmly. He wasn't as physically adept as Lüt, that was for sure and it certainly showed; that handshake actually hurt a bit. As he watched Lüt look over his portfolio, he leant lightly onto the desk with one arm and glanced to his side as he noticed somebody else enter.

"I'll never know how you do it."

Søren frowned slightly as he gave the guy a quick once over. He had no idea who it was but he had a feeling that Lüt might just know.

"Yeah...I didn't think that sitting inside all day would suit me." Søren replied, stuffing the brochure into his pocket while taking another quick look who had just made his presence known. "Although I've never been outside the city, unfortunately. It would be quite nice, though..." he trailed off, eventually deciding to ask who it was that was now standing there like nothing happened.

"Er...do you...know this guy?" Søren asked Lüt awkwardly, clearly not really sure about anything. He definitely looked very adventurous, anyway. The goggles kinda gave it away. Unless he was a mechanic of sorts...or something.

It took a lot of effort to stop from grinning at Sufjan and the deflated look he gave upon seeing Lüt.

“I’ll never know how you do it.”

“Years of patience and self denial.”

Lüt nodded, “My friend and business partner, Sufjan Flunder.” He hid the little smirk as he leaned back on the counter, “We’re in Acquisitions, but we also provide contracting for safety and survival training.” He looked past the younger man down the hallway, then glanced over to his partner, “Comeon’ Suf, we should go catch up with Cayo and make sure the camera mobs don’t stop me from eating at a reasonable hour.”

He looked from Søren over to Angie, then gave the young geologist a pat on the shoulder, “You too mate, you seem like you have a good head on your shoulders. The Doctor is the final say on people, but I’m entitled to my opinion, I’ll show you the way to his office.”

With a little wave to Angie, he started off in the direction of Dr. Adanza and his scary assistant.

Jessica finished writing her message and attached it to the bird, before letting fly off. It would get to Adanza, it had too.

She opened her bag and pulled out a notebook. She thumbed through it, looking at it's wondrous contents. She wondered from what lands they had come from. She came to a stop on the last page and stared at the curious designs on the page.

She and Sara needed to make absolutely sure this got to Dr. Adanza. It was important.

Dirt walked in from the cold, shook a little, a looked about him.

Voices. Three. All men. Two familiar, one of which instantly put a grin on his furry face.

Dirt lumbered forward towards the receptionist desk. Quite a crowded room already, what with Lüt and his underling socializing, per usual. He was wearing a brown trench coat, his favorite. It was a gift from an employer whom he had helped with what turned out to be a lucrative project.

He approached the trio.

"Lüt," he said with a grin, eying the other two.

Søren nodded slowly when Lüt mentioned his friend's name. He turned his attention to Sufjan for a second, now acknowledging his presence a lot more than before. Again, like Lüt, Sufjan most definitely had the upper hand in terms of strength, agility and all that jazz, but hey. What could he do about it?

Søren kept that smile on his face and got ready to follow Lüt and his friend to the Doctor's office. He still had a lot of questions to ask but he could, hopefully, ask those on the way there. Unfortunately, though, they were interrupted again. This time, they were joined by somebody who looked like he had just spent his whole life in the gym, never taking a break. If he was being honest, Søren was actually starting to feel quite intimidated around everyone else.

"Lüt"

"I've got to be honest...you're all making me feel like a bloody outcast here!" Søren announced in a jokey manner, putting on a serious-sarcastic expression. He smirked and flicked his head to one side in order to get his large tuft of black hair out of his eye, only for it to slowly but surely fall back into its original position after a few seconds.

"I've only ever had one experience with thieves and that...didn't end too well for me but it seems all of you have survived enough encounters like that to last you a lifetime. Each." Søren stated incredulously. He was beginning to feel really out of place here but he tried playing it down.

The voice caused the old treasure hunter to come to a quick halt, and he turned in the shadow of the hulking ox, “Mik.” He shook the larger hand in a tight grip, “Glad you made it, wasn’t sure if you got my message soon enough.” Lüt moved around, a little away from the reception area, “You know Flunder of course. Didn’t pull you away from anything important I hope?” He started walking down the hall again, leading a likely very confused Søren along.

“I got to be honest… you’re all making me feel like a bloody outcast here!”

The young geologist had a look of mock seriousness.

"I've only ever had one experience with thieves and that...didn't end too well for me but it seems all of you have survived enough encounters like that to last you a lifetime. Each."

Lüt laughed quietly and gave him a clap on the back, “You’re one of the brains! That’s what you do, and you’ll find you’re a lot tougher than you think once you’re padding through sand-dunes or dragging a cart of equipment through the muck. Everyone pulls their weight one way or another.”

Well, almost everyone.

Without explaining anything to anyone, he immediately started talking towards Dirt as they walked, “You remember Risondo right? Big scaly chap that got three quarters of his party turned into giant scorpion food?” He kept going as though everyone had been there, “He had a bit of an accident the other morning, broke his leg or something. Naturally he blames me… so I was looking to enlist a little more muscle if you have the free time.” He looked over his shoulder, and up, at the ox, “Paid of course! Not like last time.”

Sufjan headed off after Lüt as they went to escort him to Adanza's office. Suddenly, Dirt was there, apparently to meet Adanza as well. All of this put just the biggest smile on Flunder's face; he liked meeting new explorers like Søren, and it had been a while since he'd last seen Dirt. It was great to see him again.

Lüt started going on about Risondo and Sufjan thought briefly back to the brawl and chuckled about it.

"Paid of course! Not like last time."

A moment of silence. Sufjan decided to intervene before it got awkward.

"And hey!" He exclaimed "Looks like your horn grew back! Good stuff." He patted the large, sharp bone growing out of Dirt's head, in a half joking manner, and half 'oh my spirits I'm so sorry and I'll make sure not to let that accident happen again.'

As Lüt patted him on the back, Søren quietly sighed to himself. 'Yeah...I'll look forward to that.' he thought to himself sarcastically just as he remembered fully what he was putting himself in for. Death wasn't the problem, no. It was just that he might have to carry stuff places at some point in time if he did get the job and he really couldn't be bothered. A trivial matter, maybe, but that was all that he could think about at the moment while Lüt talked to his other, probably more anti-social, friend.

Realising just how warm he actually was now, Søren unzipped his coat and quickly shed it, revealing a rather out of place t-shirt with the name 'Dream Theater' on it. Random art was also shown around the cream coloured t-shirt. He liked his music immensely but the t-shirt itself was probably not the best thing to wear fashion-wise.

"Er...shouldn't we be seeing Doctor Adanza in a minute?"

“Er… shouldn’t we be seeing Dr. Adanza in a minute?”

Lüt nodded, “Hopefully. If his assistant gives the okay. If you’re lucky, we’ll run into both of them. That way Adanza can get a quick judge of you and whatnot.”

He casually set the pace down the hall, “So did you come down here from Ruskol at the announcement? Or were you already in the area? Maybe caught wind of the thing before it started?” He pointed to the folders in the geologist’s hand, “You obviously got prepared pretty quick.”

Søren glanced down at the folder that Lüt had mentioned. He had honestly completely forgotten about the fact he was holding it. All the other things that were going on around him kind of took his mind off of that.

"Let's just say...not even you could stop me from coming here to the conference once I heard about it." Søren remarked, smirking a little as they continued through the university towards Adanza's office. The thing is, though...that was probably true. If he didn't get this job, he'd find some way to get out of the city. "As much as i love Ruskol and Anduruna, the land beyond Starfall holds something special. I know it."

Hesitating for a moment, Søren thought back to the conference he was in earlier in the day. He had seen plenty of Dr. Adanza himself, of course, but his assistant...well, he wasn't entirely sure on anything about her but he thought it was best if he got a heads up if he ever did actually meet her.

"By the way...What's Doctor Adanza's assistant like? I mean, I've never met her before so...any advice on how to deal with her?" Søren asked curiously to either Sufjan or Lüt. This 'Dirt' person didn't look like he was one to talk to strangers so the Geologist didn't see any reason to try asking him. Søren didn't even know whether the other two knew about Adanza's assistant, but it was his best shot.
